Hertz Arena is host to one of the largest youth hockey leagues in the southern states. With over 500 players in leagues from Mini Mite to High School, we provide a fun and competitive atmosphere for the game of hockey. Our participants enjoy a league that is sanctioned by USA Hockey and is an avid proponent of the ADM skill training.

Here at Hertz Arena we pride ourselves on skill development, sportsmanship and a safe playing environment for our players. All coaches, referees and instructors are USA Hockey Certified.

Hertz Arena provides three seasons for youth hockey. 5 on 5 in the Fall/Spring seasons and 4 on 4 in the Summer.

Mini Mite - 6 & Under

Future stars of the game of hockey play here. A starting point for your young hockey player’s future is here at Hertz Arena. A competitive and fun league is a great start to a young hockey player’s career. ADM (American Development Model) cross ice hockey is played.

8 & Under

Hertz Arena continues the building blocks of hockey with a great league for young hockey players. Mite ADM (American Development Model) half ice hockey league is a great way to develop skills while touching the puck more often on a smaller playing surface.

10 & Under

The squirt league gives the players a larger outlook at the game of hockey. Between practices and games, the skill level increases with the continuous development of each skater.

  • Jerseys included
  • 3 – 12 minute periods for games
  • Playoffs at end of season with trophies for every player
  • Practices are held on Saturday’s and games are played on Tuesday nights
  • End of the season pizza party
12 & Under

The peewee league is where players start to grasp the larger concepts of hockey and team play. The practices start to focus even more on game concepts and increasingly introduce body contact as part of the sport.

  • Playoffs at end of season with trophies for every player
  • Practices are held on Saturday’s and games are played on Thursday nights

14 & Under/16U

The bantam/16U league is a fast, competitive and fun league. The players really start to step up the pace of the game in the bantam/16U league. This division is typically the most competitive right behind the High School League.

  • Practices are held on Saturdays and Games are played on Monday nights

High School - 18 & Under

The high school league is offered in the Spring season. The Southwest Florida Scholastic Hockey League has many of the high schools in the area represented and puts their school colors on display in a hockey arena. If the player’s high school does not have a team we will have a spot for them to play.

Jr. Everblades Travel Hockey

The Junior Everblades Tier II travel hockey program started in 1998 along with the Florida Everblades as part of team president Craig Brush’s vision for bringing hockey to Southwest Florida. That year, there were just four teams. Today the Junior Everblades is comprised of fourteen teams and over 200 kids!

The Jr. Everblades competes at the Single-A and Double-A levels. The Junior Everblades Hockey Association is a non-profit (501-c-3) organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of Florida, with the primary purpose of providing the youth of Southwest Florida an opportunity to participate in an organized competitive team ice hockey program.

League Start Times

Fall and Spring 5 on 5 Leagues (August – March)

The 5 on 5 leagues are your traditional hockey league. Each team plays with three forwards, two defensem*n, and one goalie on the ice surface. With the combination of games and practice through out each season the player develops their hockey skills.

  • At least 10 players per team

Summer 4 on 4 League (April – August)

The purpose of the 4 on 4 league is to help each player enhance and develop the skills of stick handling, passing, and visualizing the open ice. It is also a great tool for conditioning for the upcoming season. Goaltenders see as many 30 shots a game… a goaltender’s dream!

  • Two 13 minute period games
  • Two games per night
  • Practices are group clinics organized by Hertz Arena Instructors
  • At least 8 players per team
  • Jersey included
  • Playoffs and trophies for each participant
  • End of the season pizza party
